Two Stories, One Heart

My Dear Stranger,

This is me again—your stranger.

Like a mirror, I can see pieces of reflection of myself in you.

Two different lives,

shaped so differently,

in opposite directions,

Yet somehow carved from the same truth.

You were born into a life that stands in contrast to mine.

A warm, happy home.

Supporting parents.

Laughter at the dinner table.

Sisters beside you—built-in companions,

witnesses to your becoming.

I was born into absence.

Into quiet rooms.

Into the feeling of being left

of being unwanted,

of learning early how to survive alone.

And yet—

despite how different our beginnings were,

We carry the same values.

We believe in the same things.

We stand for the same truths.

As if life gave us opposite stories,

but entrusted us with the same heart.

We walk on the same earth,

under the same sky,

but we made different decisions—

chose different roads.

Those choices led us into different lives.

You followed the rhythm of the crowd,

the world’s loudest spaces.

I learned how to disappear,

hiding in the shadows,

I built to protect who I really was.

You chose noise and visibility,

where dreams are celebrated out loud.

I chose silence,

where dreams are carried quietly,

kept alive in secret.

You turned your dreams into a life that could be seen.

I remained a dreamer—

living softly,

unnoticed.

My Dear Stranger,

sometimes it feels like we are opposite twins,

Two sisters written into different chapters,

never meant to meet,

strangers for each other.

Until one night,

without warning,

Fate crossed the lines.

Your hurting soul called out to mine.

Across distance.

Across reality.

Across everything that should have kept us apart.

I don’t know how it reached me,

But it did.

Loud.

Intense.

Unavoidable.

As if your pain knew my name before I ever knew yours.

And suddenly, we chose the same path.

A choice that brings us closer,

day by day,

step by step.

until we met again,

one day.

Your stranger
